The Lane...

Ashton Lane is a great night out for anyone of different ages. My boyfriend and his pals are regulars and so is my dad and his pals! Nude, Radio & Vodka Wodka are where I would usually go in the Lane.

Its a really nice night as it's a beautiful setting. The only downfall of it is the coble stone street... Do not where stilettos, you will not make it out alive.

Nude is my favourite bar here because its relatively small but is always busy. The bar staff are usually fast so your not waiting too long for a drink - I usually just get a pitcher of something so I dont have to go up and down - handy tip!

Radio on the other hand is a cocktail bar and so you can be waiting up to 30mins and more to get your order. This isn't for me. I do however enjoy this during the day when its quiet and I've been out for a meal with the girls. So I wouldn't write it off completely.

There's also the loft, vodka wodka, bar brel, ashoka, ubiq chip and many more.

It's only up the road from Boho and down the road fro, Viper and Oran Mor, and not to mention the fact it's a 10 minute taxi ride into Glasgow's city centre. This makes Ashton Lane a great choice whether its for drinks before heading to a club or just for some casual drinks with friends and family.

Definetly a fan of Ashton lane... And you will be too.

Boho

I went to Boho on a Friday night and I have to say it was really good. The club itself is fun and classy with the boho sign being a big hedge. The sinks in the toilets are marble and the walls are sparkly.

The drinks are fairly priced at £2 vodka mixes and some cocktails only being £3. By being situated just up from Partick and just down from Byres Road theres plenty of oppurtunities to head out a bit earlier for a few drinks elsewhere.

This is the one club where I've been recently where I couldn't see anyone who looked under age? Was pretty nice to be honest!

The music was good by playing a variety of different genres, and there wasn't a lot of chart music which was appreciated.

The club is beautifully decorated which is why it is often used for other events such as fashion shows. Fantastic evening for anyone at a variety of different ages.

Tunnel

Being situated only moments away from tingle bar which is a great bar with cheap shots and cocktail pitchers makes Tunnel a good place to go after there. It is also moments away from Central Station so food is never far away and it's round the corner from the biggest taxi rank in the center of Glasgow.
Tunnel guarantees a hilarious night. With an R'N'B room and a dance room there really is something for everyone. Everyone goes hard at tunnel, there is no room for sober posers or drivers!

The club mainly attracts males who enjoy the dance scene and the girls tend to take over the R'N'B floor. The good thing about Tunnel is that a lot of people dance and so there is a great fun atmosphere you dont always get in other clubs.

Tunnel is a great night which should be experienced! Only downside is it can be £10 on a Saturday night for entry. Too expensive for us students on a regular basis but for every so often is affordable.

oVo

Down at the heart of Merchant City Club oVo is a popular destination for those of you who fancy a slightly classier more romantic scene of merchant cities finest bars and then a good dance session after the pre bev tank is full.

The VIP (Vaguely Importnant Person) room and HIP (Hugely Important Person) room add some quirkiness and have really prided themselves on this club being an innovation.

As an attendee of the opening night I felt as though the club was trying to go for a London club feel, a bit out of the norm with added status.

The drinks were fairly priced however I did notice there was champagne flowing and grey goose to left and right.

The club isn't aimed at students yet more at slightly older age group who are seen as more 'dignified' who have more money to spend.

I would recommend this night if your in a relationship and out with your partner as the club attracts an older more mature crowd and as it is situated in the beautiful Merchant City the mood is romantic.

Suga Suga...

Sober night out was on the cards so we went to sugarcube as its known for people posing rather than getting drunk so  we thought it would be a good idea to try it out.

As previously advised the club was wall to wall with fake hair, fake tan and fake eye-lashes. All the girls looked like they were from The Only Way is Essex and the guys had more cleavage than the girls! Safe to say, it was still a good night.

With two public rooms, a VIP room, good priced drinks and a smoking area which is located upstairs away from all 3 music rooms makes the club desirable. I really enjoyed the music and the civilised atmosphere. Would recommend this evening however would suggest you wear your finest outfit and an extra layer of fake tan.

Viper Got Me Hyper.

Waw. I just have to start by describing Viper monday as waw. The club itself is tiny with only one bar and so queueing for vodka after vodka is unrealistic... Good news for those of you who enjoy wine! Cause its only £8 for a bottle of wine! Result.

Theres a mixed crowd who go to Viper on a monday, a mixture between Art School characters and your Sugarcube looking girls. I like this because you can wear whatever you like be it casual or something a bit smarter and not look out of place.

The music is varied which is probably why it attracts a variety of people, there was indie, old school r'n'b and the latest in the charts. There is a real friendly relaxed vibe which is what really makes Viper a great evening.

I concluded my evening by being convinced by my friend to shot a tub of spicy pakora sauce...

...

Not tasty. Not attractive. Not advised.

Classy Corinthian

The girls and I decided to put on our nicer dresses and spend the night at the Corinthian. It's a casino, has a club and a large open room with two cocktail bars. I have often ended up here after a few nights out to wait for my taxi and have a bacon roll, however this time I went for the evening.

The men were dressed a lot smarter than anywhere else I've attended and they appeared more intelligent also. This could possibly explain the copius amounts of girls who looked like Cheryl Cole there.

I wouldn't recommend this as a regular evening if you are a student because it's £6 for a single vodka. Not to mention having a casino in the club.

Octopussy

2 words. BRILLIANT NIGHT. If your not too keen on the trance scene but enjoy something a bit different then Octo at the Arches is for you! Its a brilliant night which is aimed at students so the drinks are cheap and the atmospohere is fun.

There are great activities set up such as a bouncy castle, twister, a chapel to get married! And a swimming pool (well, a massive paddling pool). They each provide such amusement!

Whats better than marrying your female best friend by an awful impersonation of Elvis?

If your not bothered about being dolled up to the nines and enjoy a funfilled evening which takes you back to your childhood then head to Octo at the Arches on Wednesday and try out some of the action for yourself!

Replay... Cause I forgot my night?

Replay is a revamped version of Play. This should have been enough to stop me going. However we thought a uni night out was in need and it would be a fun evening. We had also heard that there were 'play-doh' shots and I have to admit I was extrememly intrigued as I have always been told - DO NOT eat play-doh.

Anyway the drinks were cheap as expected. There were short dresses as expected. Finally a lot of boys looking for a girlfriend for the evening.

There are some fun activities you can play such a machine that tests how hard you hit the boxing ball, a photo booth and a pool table.

Music was old school dance - pretty neddy but inspired this fantastic video which was actually a photo gone wrong! - http://www.facebook.com/search/results.php?q=i%20got%20poked%20at%20t%20in%20the%20park&init=quick&tas=0.8676448871886968#!/video/video.php?v=335694799803774

Thankfully I was able to discover on this venture that the play-doh shots are not made of play-doh but icing and vodka - terribly sickly... Mine ended up on my nose.

All in all it was a fun night and perfect for a student at is required minimal expenditure.

Some Kushion for the Pushin...

Me and the girls speant Saturday night in our LBD's in one of Glasgow's finests - Kushion.

It was one of the girls birthday's so we thought we would live it large and splash out on a Dragon Booth which only cost us £15 each and included 2 bottles of greygoose and mix.

The music was on top form with a variety of chart music, R'N'B, and some dubby dubby dubstep. The club was packed with a variety of different people from different scenes which added a great atmosphere. Obviously the fact its surrounded in comfy seats is a bonus too for when your losing control of your limbs.
Definitely recommend this night to ANYONE who enjoys a night packed with dancing and fun.
